Pick Up Korean

Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

LayerNines Inc. ("we" or "us") runs Pick Up Korean and is the controller of the personal information this policy describes. Our registered address is 경기도 김포시 김포한강9로 79, 4층 401-303에이호(구래동). For privacy questions, write to [email protected] or call 070-5276-8282.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.

2. What we collect

  • Account holders: phone number, sign-in details, payment details (Paddle keeps your card details; we don't), and records of how the service is used.
  • Learners: name or the name they're called by, phone number, details the account holder enters (such as learning goals and interests), call audio and transcripts, texts and pictures sent to the service, and the summaries and memories made from calls.
  • Trial callers: the phone number the call comes from, call audio and transcript, and the summary and report made from the call. A trial call starts when the caller dials us, and we use this information only to provide that call.
  • Website visitors: access logs, cookies and device information.
  • We get a learner's name, phone number and details from the account holder who adds them. A learner can ask us where their information came from, why we use it, and to stop using it.

  • We share personal information only with the service providers in section 5, who process it for us under contract; with Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record; with professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants; and with authorities when the law requires it.
  • When an account holder adds someone else as the learner, we share with the account holder whether the learner took their calls and the learner's reports (phrases learned and a lesson summary). The learner can turn off sharing of conversation topics in their web account at any time. For an employee or someone else in a work relationship, we share only whether they took calls and for how long. Transcripts and recordings are shown only to the learner.
